- Changes in Encrypt-It v2.00 for DOS provided the following over v1.44:
-
- - Added proprietary+ and DES plus cipher block chaining (CBC) to the
- encryption methods. You now have four options: proprietary,
- proprietary+, DES, and DES+CBC. DES+CBC provides an extremely high
- level of protection for your data. Encrypt-It uses DES or DES+CBC
- as an additional layer on top of the proprietary level of encryption.
- This makes our DES and especially our DES+CBC virtually unbreakable.
- - Added routines to allow you to proceed with decryption even if a CRC
- error is detected. We don't recommend that you proceed with decryption
- after we detect your data has been altered (via a built-in CRC).
- However, your data may be important enough to try manual reconstruction
- of the damaged areas.
- - Added an decryption option to allow you to wipe the encrypted source
- file after decryption.
- - Expanded the built-in help.
- - Other minor touchups and improvements.
-
- Changes in Encrypt-It v2.10 for DOS provided the following over v2.00:
-
- - Encrypt-It now has the ability to convert any file to an email
- format. This functionality is provided as a standalone utility
- called Email-It. You can easily convert any file to and from an
- email format. You will find Email-It useful with many other
- program's files also. Feel free to use Email-It there also.
- - Email-It provides:
- -- Conversion of any file to and from an email format.
- -- Built-in CRCs to detect any change to the file's contents
- due to transmission errors, tampering, etc.
- -- Restoration of ALL details when converting back to normal
- file format. Including the file's name, date, and time.
- -- Lightning fast performance due to the use of high performance
- C coupled with assembly language subroutines and CRCs implemented
- using very fast lookup tables.
- - Touched up several areas of the program.
- - Other minor improvements.
